Within the framework of the side event organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) titled “Global Prevention of Drug Use: Initiative Countries Redefining Investment in Prevention,” Ms. Boumehraz Maha, Head of the International Cooperation Directorate at the National Office for the Fight Against Drugs and Drug Addiction, delivered a presentation today, March 12, 2026.

The intervention, titled “Prevention Among Children: A Priority Investment for the Future,” highlighted Algeria’s extensive efforts in supporting comprehensive prevention programs for children.

The Algerian experience was highly commended by the participating bodies and delegations for its clear vision and strategic support for prevention initiatives. Furthermore, the Executive Director of the UNODC congratulated Ms. Boumehrez Maha on her presentation, praising the quality of the discourse and the significance of the approach presented by Algeria.
