At the gracious invitation of the Minister of Youth, Mr. Mustapha HIDAOUI, the Director General of the National Office for the Fight Against Drugs and Addiction, Dr. Tarek KOUR, participated this Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in a training day focused on updating mechanisms for the prevention of drugs and psychotropic substances within youth settings. The event was dedicated to the personnel of youth listening cells and youth health clubs.

In his address, the Director General highlighted the significant role played by the Ministry of Youth in the areas of awareness and sensitization. He emphasized that this training day serves as a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise, harmonize concepts, and gain insights into the latest legal, health, and security developments. Furthermore, he noted that the session aims to enhance the skills of the personnel within listening cells and health clubs, enabling them to fulfill their noble mission of awareness, support, and prevention.

In the same context, Ms. Antar El Alia, in charge of the Directorate of Studies, Analysis, and Evaluation, delivered a presentation titled “An Overview of Drug Prevention Mechanisms among Youth.” Her intervention underscored the importance of adapting drug prevention methods in accordance with international standards and the specific characteristics of the target groups, with the objective of fostering the awareness necessary for effective prevention.
