At the invitation of the Algiers Provincial Security, the National Office for the Fight Against Drugs and Drug Addiction participated today, Thursday, August 13, 2026, with a dedicated pavilion in the Open Doors event organized by the National Security services at the Algiers Provincial Security. The participation featured a specialized space dedicated to the prevention of the scourge of drugs, psychotropic substances, and addiction.
This participation falls within the framework of strengthening national efforts aimed at consolidating a culture of prevention and raising awareness about the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances. It also seeks to highlight their adverse health, social, and psychological impacts, particularly among the youth.
This event served as a platform for direct engagement with citizens and visitors by providing information and awareness materials on the risks of drug and psychotropic substance abuse and the means of prevention. Furthermore, it served to highlight the efforts undertaken by the Office in the fields of prevention and the fight against drugs and drug addiction.
The Office’s participation also underscores the importance of collaborative action and coordination among various sectors, agencies, security institutions, and civil society. Such cooperation contributes to strengthening the national front for the prevention of drugs and psychotropic substances, thereby protecting society, especially its youth.
This initiative aligns with the implementation of the objectives set forth in the National Strategy for the Prevention of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances 2025–2029, which is founded upon enhancing prevention, raising awareness, and intensifying joint efforts to combat this scourge.
