On the sidelines of the official commemoration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the National Office for the Fight Against Drugs and Drug Addiction (ONLCDT) organized a friendly football match on Saturday, June 27, 2026, featuring an elite group of veteran Algerian club players. The event was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and with the contribution of Mobilis, hosted at the Higher School of Hotel and Catering in Aïn Benian.

At the conclusion of the match, the Director General of the National Office for the Fight Against Drugs and Drug Addiction, Dr. Tarek KOUR, along with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Sports, attended the honoring ceremony for the participating veteran players. This gesture served to recognize their distinguished athletic careers, acknowledge their contributions to Algerian sports, and commend their role in promoting drug prevention messages.

This initiative is part of the Office’s ongoing efforts to leverage sports as an effective tool to promote a culture of drug and addiction prevention, and to consolidate societal awareness regarding the dangers of this scourge, particularly among the youth.
